An Electoral Experience
After the destruction of the previous building during the Thirty Years' War and the Palatine-Orléans War of Succession, Elector Johann Wilhelm initiated its reconstruction as a Baroque residence. The complex experienced its heyday as the summer residence of the art-loving Elector Carl Theodor (1724-99).
