Schwetzingen is still committed in many ways to the all-summer musical court of Elector Carl Theodor and his legacy. Modern Schwetzingen now has top-class music to offer all year round: The traditional "Schwetzingen SWR Festival" kicks off in spring, followed by "Music in the Park" in the summer palace garden. In autumn, the "Schwetzingen Mozart Festival" is dedicated to the city's most famous holiday guest, the "Jazz Days" are enjoyed, and in the "Winter in Schwetzingen" nothing but baroque is heard in the rococo theatre. The small town in the heart of the Electoral Palatinate even offers a theatre with year-round repertoire. Those who are more drawn to the fine arts can experience changing exhibitions in galleries and museums.
Numerous art objects in public spaces and a growing number of murals are added every year, such as the "life's work" of Hendrik Beikirch shown here in fast motion.
